This project, which was funded by United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF), aimed to raise the awareness among women’s organizations in Turkey and women’s rights activists on enjoyment of rights and to strengthen their capacity to make rights-based policy.
Within this project, the trainings of trainers on “human rights of women” were held for the representatives of women’s organizations and NGOs from 7 geographical regions throughout Turkey.
The women in the pool, which consist of those who have successfully completed the trainings of trainers, spread the new knowledge and skills they acquired in the trainings between the women within their own organizations and female citizens in their regions. Within the scope of the project, focused training of trainers was provided to 358 women from 7 regions and 14 cities for 5 days; those who successfully completed the trainings were awarded with a certificate. Then, certified trainers organized their own workshops and raised the awareness of 2496 female citizens and they have reported that they are currently conducting various workshops and studies in their regions.
