As KA.DER, we have recently launched Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) study together with municipalities in local governments.
With the purpose of incorporating the perspective of gender equality into the planning and budgeting processes, as KA.DER Head Office, we carry out a series of discussions together and we promote KA.DER’s project on this subject while at the same time explaining the de lege ferenda situation as well as pointing out whether the public expenditures improve gender equality or not.
Our objective as KA.DER Head Office is to ensure KA.DER to become a center regarding GRB. Our dialogue with other municipalities will continue respectively. For each municipality, with which it has been reached an agreement on the subject, a road map is drawn according to the situation and it is conceptualized as a project by KA.DER Head Office. With this study, it will be ensured that “equality mechanisms empowering women” be established locally and women be involved in participatory budgeting processes.
Motives of the Project:
With the project, the municipality acknowledges that participation is the basis of the new Local Government process and it shows that it has decided to work in the participatory budgeting with the awareness that it needs to cooperate with civil society beyond a dialogue.
